Story: Frédéric Sornin took over the estate from his father in 1986. Nine generations of Sornins have farmed these hills. He started the official sustainable conversion in 2000, then full organic certification in 2006. With his family, they now own 25 ha of vines in Beaujolais-Villages, Lantignie, Cru Regnie, and Cru Morgon like this one. Soils are graitic and sandy. Frederic’s son - Victor, is now working with him and also making wines under his own label.
Personality: It has a classic core of ripe cherry fruit and a wonderful note of turned earth complemented by fresh violets and cola and a just-grippy-enough-without-being-tannic texture.
Harmony: Roast chicken, or turkey depending on what side of the road you’re on.
